Chinese Beauty Brand


Maogepin is a premium cosmetic brand founded in 2001 by the famous Chinese make-up artist whose name it bears. The brand’s portfolio includes make-up and skincare, currently available at over 100 points of sale across China.

ODG was appointed to develop the brand including the creation of the logo and inclusion of monogram and visual identity guidelines. In addition to this, the retail architecture entailed renovation of the brand’s counters to heighten skincare category visibility, improve customer experience and increase sales.


A simple yet strong logo design and distinctive monogram, both in black and white, set the tone and style for the brand. With a dramatic use of the same stark colours and a clever interweaving of the monogram into the brand’s kiosks and stores, the brand’s retail architecture also made a powerful and eyecatching statement.


The timeline to deliver both the branding and original concept was one year.
